Start with a good program of past performances that you have purchased or printed from your computer. Start by looking at the conditions of the race. You can eliminate any maiden race for two year olds. They are, in my opinion, just too unpredictable and tough to handicap.

Next, look to the right, where they tell you if the horse has won at the distance and at that track. Circle any horse who has won at the distance and at that track and on that surface. For instance, if a horse is racing at a mile on the turf course at Belmont Park, and you see that it has raced at a mile and won at that distance on the turf at Belmont, circle each one of those stats.

Next, look at the date of the horse’s last race for each horse in the race and circle any that raced within the last 35 days. After settling the recency issue, check out the speed rating of each horse’s last race and circle the top three. Finally, look at the morning line odds for each horse and circle the horses who are in the top four, in other words, the ones with the lowest morning line odds.

Start to pick your contenders by looking at the horses who have won at the distance, surface, and track. If any of them has also raced in the last 35 days and has a speed rating that you circled, that is your bet. If not, then go over the program again and just count the circles for each horse. The horse with the most circles is your bet. In the case of a tie, go with the horse with the lowest morning line odds.

This easy horse racing system is not a money maker in the long run and you should be aware that betting on horses is risky. But if you just want a quick way to pick horses who are capable of winning and to handicap the program without too much work, then this system will pick a fair amount of winners.

The first thing you have to realize is that every race is not playable. Some races are mystery races because no horse in the race has ever demonstrated that it can do what is being asked of it. I am talking about the fact that in some races you will find that not a single horse in the race has won at the distance, surface, and class level that it is running at today. Every horse is being asked to do what it hasn’t done before.

How do you know how well a horse will handle a race over a mile long when it has never raced more than six furlongs? How do you know how a horse will handle the turf when it has never raced on grass before. The answer is that you don’t know and if you don’t know that, how can you compare one horse to another. If you think that breeding is the answer, guess again. Take a look at any turf race and then check the sire stats for turf in that race. You will often find horses whose sire had an 8% sire win rate on turf beating other horses whose sire had an impressive 16% rating.

So breeding won’t help to solve the riddle. My advice is skip the race. Here is how you will find some quick bets from the rest of the races that do have qualified winners…

First of all, look at the morning line odds. Find the top four horses in the morning line. Seventy Five percent of all winners come from the top four horses in the morning line.

Next, circle the three horses in the race with the highest speed figure in their last race. Once again, about 70-75% of winners come from that group. Finally, look for horses moving down in class because horses win much more often when they are moving down than when they are moving up. By now you probably have narrowed it down to just one or two horses. Take the one with the jockey with the highest win average and you will have many winners.

Will you make a huge profit with this little horse racing system? Probably not, but you will find some nice winners and it is a fast way to scan a racing form and pick horses that have the percentages on their side.

One common mistake that is made by a lot of people when it comes to poker, is thinking that poker itself is just one, solitary game. Poker might have been one particular type of game way back when, but nowadays there are so many different variations of poker that have emerged and are actively played. Probably one of the most heard of and played variations of poker is Texas Hold-Em. Texas Hold-Em

Just like Texas Hold-Em, Omaha poker does have two different variations of play; Omaha High and Omaha High or Low.

However, there are two distinct differences that Omaha poker boasts over Texas Hold-Em. In Texas Hold-Em, a player receives two hole cards, but with Omaha poker each player receives four hole cards. The second difference lies within how a player composes his or her hand. In Omaha poker, a player must combine two hole cards coupled with three of the community cards in order to make a five card hand.

Seven-Card Stud

Seven-Card Stud is one of those variations of poker that has been around for quite awhile. In fact, Seven Card Stud has been around long before Texas Hold-Em and used to hold the same popularity status as Texas Hold-Em but eventually the spotlight moved on. However, Seven-Card Stud is still extremely popular and is hosted in many different physical tournaments as well as in many online casinos.

In any given match of Seven-Card Stud, there are supposed to be anywhere between two to eight players. Each player is ultimately dealt seven cards; three cards that are to remain concealed, and four that are face up for everybody to see. While Five-Card Draw is pretty antiquated, it certainly is not forgotten as it is played widely by many different poker enthusiasts at individual matches, tournaments, online casinos and more.

In Five-Card Draw, each player endures two rounds of betting, ultimately being dealt five cards in which only the individual may see. If the player is not happy with what he or she has, then after the first round of betting is over, he or she may return up to five cards and replace them with new ones. The goal of Five-Card Draw is to make the best hand possible using the final five cards.

Pressed pace: When he with good speed forces the pace set by rivals
Rank: When a horse relaxes and settles off the pace but in good position.
Rated: When he fits its jockey and is unmanageable, especially on the lead.
Saved Ground: When a horse races along the rail, taking the shortest path.
Speed: Used in conjunction with position on the track to show the horse was prominent to a certain point in the race.

Scan through each horse and you will really tell the character of that horse that is running. Well, let’s look at some of the math, you will soon see that although it’s called ‘Basic Strategy’ it’s been mathematically computed for the optimal results to reduce the house edge, so it says never split 10′s there is a very good reason.

Let’s look at the most tempting of situations when the deal is showing an up card of 6.

If you run the simulation of a $5 hand for 500 times where you have 10′s against dealer up card of 6. If you do not split the 10′s your total bet of $2500 is expected to average you a profit of $1750.

If you split the 10′s for the same 500 hands then you are now betting a total of $5000, so you are adding more exposure but the expected profit actually drops!!! You can expect a profit of around $1050. This is based on the basic fact that your second card will not always been the strong one you are hoping for and the times the deals does not bust out.

The results will change as the dealers up card gets stronger, you will actually turn an expected profit to a loss if you start splitting when the dealer is showing a 9 or higher.
